Kill the Ego
And with it all the hurt and pride
And save the soul.
The mind returns to the well-worn paths of predictability, comfort, and self-preservation.
Don’t let it.
That’s the realm of the ego. There’s no growth there, nor hardly any love.
Instead, seek what feeds the soul. The heart will always recognize the path that leads to its growth and expansion, which will be the direction in which the mind and ego will fight against it.
There’s nothing more freeing than when love leads the way. For that to occur, there must be a pushing through where pride and hurt want to keep us (both are of the ego) and a deliberate decision to go in the way of light.
Perhaps that’s the purpose of human pride in this life, to come to peace knowing that it is not the way.
